Please Note: We are at the Texas Life Annex for our January meeting.
What to expect when the Wage and Hour Division knocks at your door...
Brenda Hernandez from the U.S. Department of Labor will join us in January. The presentation will discuss Wage and Hour Division visits to employers. The Wage and Hour Division is responsible for administering and enforcing a number of federal laws which set basic labor standards. Wage and Hour Division may conduct investigations and gather data to determine employer’s compliance with the law.
Where violations are found, Wage and Hour Division will recommend changes in employment practices to bring an employer into compliance. Topics to be covered: types of investigations, investigation procedures, enforcement remedies, and record keeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standard Act.
