Our October meeting will focus on resources in Waco that can help our employees and will feature speakers from Prosper Waco and the Waco Employer Resource Network (WERN).
The mission of Prosper Waco is to build an environment in which all members of our Waco community are able to measurably improve their education, health, and financial security.
One of the newest endeavors toward achieving the goals of the Prosper Waco Initiative is the Waco Employer Resource Network (WERN). WERN helps "employers to recruit, retain and engage a productive workforce.” It is a small group of employers with common needs-retention, training and advancement- who share the services of a “Success Coach” who offers assistance with work/life issues to all employees. The Success Coach connects employees with public and non-profit resources.
Matthew Polk, Executive Director for Prosper Waco; Katy Schulz, WERN Liaison; and Spike Burt, WERN Success Coach will speak to us about these exciting opportunities in our community. While this meeting will not be eligible for re-certification credit, we think that it will be valuable information for helping your employees connect to resources in our community.
If you signed up for a premium membership, then there is no payment due for this event. For all other members and for guests, the cost of the event is $12.00 and includes lunch. Please register in advance as soon as possible. This greatly assists us in planning for the meal and setting up the room. We will of course still accept registrations at the event if needed.
Given that the holiday season is generally a very hectic time of year for HR managers, this will be our last meeting of 2017. See you in January!
