Michele graduated from the United States Air Force Academy with a BS in Humanities. She was a Cost Analyst, Budget Officer and Financial Manager in the Air Force serving in Texas, Germany, and England.
Her career after the Air Force led her to marketing positions with McKee Foods (maker of Little Debbie snack cakes) and Heil Trailer International. She then spent nearly 15 years working for private college prep schools in Chattanooga, TN where she began dabbling in HR. She administered employee benefits and student billing at Girls Preparatory School, and then served as Assistant Director of Finance at The McCallie School. While serving in that capacity, she studied and earned her SHRM-CP certification. Michele also served as an Air Force Academy Liaison Officer for almost 6 years recruiting, interviewing, and evaluating candidates for future leaders and officers in the United States Air Force.
In 2016, she and her husband relocated to Waco, TX and Michele began her first "real HR job" as Benefits Administrator for the Brazos River Authority. With her diversified background and passion to help educate young people, she volunteered for the newly created role of VP Emerging Professionals, and eventually was nominated to serve as HOT SHRM President.
Fun fact: Michele and her husband, Bill, did Ironman Chattanooga (144.6 miles) together in 2015!
